OT but can you believe my Hebrew is improving just from watching these videos with the English subtitles? I can get about 15-percent of the Hebrew. Not too shabby.
Just curious, but were you fluent in Hebrew before you made aliyah?
Shalom! Keli, I knew about 50 words in Hebrew before I came to Israel, and I couldn't write all of the letters. Within a few years I was translating from Hebrew to English. Translating from English to Hebrew took a little bit longer and I always have a native speaker check the grammar. Learning Hebrew before you come to Israel will be a big help, especially if you won't have much time before you have to start work in a Hebrew speaking environment, but DO NOT think that you MUST know Hebrew before you come. However do get a good recommendation for a Hebrew Ulpan. Quality varies greatly from program to program.
