Just In Time For Purim

A certain Jblogger insulted the Kosher Cooking Carnival a while back by claiming that kosher food recipes had no place on a halacha (Jewish Law) blog.  That preposterous statement surely disqualifies him as an expert in kashrut.  My reaction was:

"I wouldn't eat from his kitchen."

There is no kosher food without halacha, and this wouldn't be much of a Jewish blog (jblog for short) without mentioning the latest Kosher Cooking Carnival, this time located in Adventures in Mama-Land.

I bet that the insulting Jblogger grew up in a kosher home and doesn't realize how important it is to publish kosher recipes for the benefit of the newly religious and perhaps more importantly for those thinking of becoming religious. The newly religious need help with planning meals. Some people hesitate keeping kosher because they erroneously think that they are doomed to eating gross, tasteless food. Old timers benefit too, off course.
On second thought, the Jblogger could be newly religious and hasn't yet learned how to balance the physical and spiritual worlds.

Darling Hadassa, he's male chauvinist.

I think that women should work as mashgichot and be poskot (deciders/judges) for kashrut. Many men have trouble integrating book halacha with real kitchens and cooking.

So he's even dumber than I thought. Is he married? I pity his wife. If his wife has as little understanding as he does, I pity the entire family. We virtually always discussed recipes in our kashrut class here with the founder of Kosharot, and it wasn't idle talk at all.
