Hamas War

Olmert should leave public life, but I won't be at the demonstration.

Tomorrow night is supposed to be a huge anti-Olmert demonstration. Like many recent demonstrations, it seems to be planned mostly by Meretz and is strongly publicized on Israel's Channel One News.

Part of the program is a song by the sister of one of the soldiers killed in last summer's disastrous war,

מגיע לנו יותר Magi'a lanu yoter, We Deserve More
What type of selfish theme for a political demonstration?! It's the "Me! Me! Me!," the continuation of John Lennon's Imagine, where he sings of his "perfect world," where "there's nothing to live or die for." Olmert is the epitome of that philosophy. That's what his "tired" speech was all about.

Right now, I'm disgustedly disappointed with the Israeli "opposition," and so are my friends. We were expecting a strong reaction, someone to follow and clean up the government.

There are many good people here in Israel, and the only reason we don't want elections too soon is that there is nobody to vote for.
