note about demonstrating against the State of Israel

I wrote this to friends, but think it's important for everybody:

Now, you can really feel the dilemma during WWII, when Betarim found themselves being forced to choose between the Etzel and the Lechi.

Must one fight for Jewish independence, even against the army which was fighting the Germans? But remember that the British were fighting the Germans for their own survival, not to stop the final solution. And the Americans entered the war to protect the British and French, not to protect Jews.

Yes, with hindsight, it's easy to simplify things.

So, please take a step further back and ask yourself, what is your aim. Is it to defend a state, regardless how corrupt and totalitarian? Or is your aim to protect Jews' rights to live in Eretz Yisrael?

Shabbat Shalom
