Let's Make Sure Obama Isn't... and About Kissenger...

Carl's Israel Matzav has a great quote of the day:
"I don't think there's a sense that I've been successful."
-- President Obama, in an interview with Colorado 9NEWS, when asked if he's been effective at changing Washington, D.C.

Let's just hope and pray that Obama isn't successful in his quest to establish a Pseudostinian aka Palestinian sic State!

And about Kissenger...

There's nothing more dangerous than a self-hating Jew.  Dry Bones' Yaakov has been in Israel about the same time as me, and anyone who was here during the 1973 Yom Kippur War must have noticed how Henery Kissenger did nothing for Israel.  Yes, that's right.  He and Nixon pushed Israel to the edge, hoping that Israel, fearful of defeat would ask the United States to step in.  With G-d's help we defeated the Arabs.

A number of years later,  friend told me that she had heard from someone who had been in the United States Military stationed in Europe that summer.  Unexpectedly, they were put on alert, supplied with desert gear and waited.  They waited until Israel defeated the Arabs.  In retrospect it seems pretty obvious that the United States knew (or seriously suspected) that Syria and Egypt would be attacking Israel.
....
And according to Carl, Richard Holbrooke was relatively good to Israel.  Baruch Dayan Ha'emet.

blessings batya. i was stunned when i read about nixon in the arutz sheva a couple of days back. i wrote to RGutman at mysticalpaths.blogspot on this issue and how after reading about nixon i finally understood the verse in tanya end chap 1. i mean, i really digested the standing of us of the 70 nations if we dont follow the 7 laws meant for us. as i mentioned to the R there, Hashem is isr's only friend and its sad many dont realise that, and we of the 70 nations have isr as our true and sincere friend, and its sad many among us dont realise it.G-d protect and bless your Homeland, home and you always, theresa

I think it was more Kissinger pushing Israel to the edge. Nixon was busy with Watergate and delegated too much authority to Kissinger. it was Nixon and Haig that gave the airlift. Kissing wanted to wait longer.
Of late I have heard Kissinger make more pro israel statements. I don't know if this is tschuva on his part or he was just so Machiavellian in the 70's.

theresa, the longer we live, the more we learn how G-d is right.

Daniel, Kissenger may be one of those Jews better out of power.

Couldn't Obama just have said, Apparently I've failed." Obama speaks fluent doublespeak.

I have known many people that don't vote for a Jewish politician because they feel that the pol will bend over backwards so as not be be perceived as pro-Jewish

Hadassa, you're a rare one of your generation in that that you speak straight.

Daniel, true and no doubt one of the reasons that the American Jewish community didn't complain/protest Pollard's unprecedented sentence.
