What's FM Ayalon's Visit to the Vatican Going to Cost Us?

Israel's Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon is on his way to the Vatican and other European cities.  The Vatican has been after the State of Israel to "sell" it our heritage.  I don't trust Danny Ayalon and his visit.  This all makes me very nervous.

Click all the above links, read the articles and tell me what you think.

thanks

I think you should add me on Facebook. ;-)

I don't quite know what it means to recognise a particular group of people as "a sovereign group or an independent church". What are the consequences? There is a good point about it possibly introducing a flood of requests from other groups... but without further information I am undecided. So long as there isn't a lot of missionary work (especially the underhanded kind), then I support helping Christian Zionists who have done a lot to support us. I think it should be made clear that missionary work is frowned upon in Israel.

Missioniary work is actually illegal here, but rarely enforced because hard to prove.

The Vatican is after Mt Zion.

facebook, remind me and add note that I asked.

Wrong, Batya!

And to Steven, the Vatican has shown itself to be a constant and consistent political enemy of the Jewish State. They don't deserve the time of day.

This in addition to the Halachic prohibitions of showing any favor to pagan Ovdei Avodah Zarah in the land of Israel itself.

Shy, thanks for the correction.

Thanks Shy.
And you have a good point about the Vatican... but I have grown to very much like Christian Zionists in America. They are good people, and good friends of Israel. Two Christian Zionists I am currently in contact with completely abhor the deceptive techniques used by many missions and state that they would never "witness" to a Jewish person. I offered to teach her how to read Hebrew!

Mr. Gerson, just always be on the alert.

I clicked on the first link. Curious thing. It seems his trips to France and Italy are about sanctions against Iran.

But with the Vatican the prime issue seems to be about economics. Call me suspicious but I smell a rat. The Vatican wants land in EY. It seems like there might be some backdoor wrangling between the FM and the Vatican.

As I said, I'm a suspicious type so I could be wrong, but that was my first impression.

As for the FM...he's frequently on the more missionary xtian TV networks. An xtian TV darling. I find that troubling. He's kind of replacing Bibi in popularity among US evangelicals.

As for christian Zionists...I don't trust them at all. Sorry, but I've heard enough of their anti-Semitic digs on their television networkds to be leery of them.

Trust me. The day will come when they decide converting Muslims is more of a priority and then watch out!

A VERY important xtian quote for Jews to remember. It should be taught in every religious and secular school in Israel.

Keli, I agree. Thanks.
The latest news makes me even more nervous.
