TV propaganda

Last night's iba channel 1 TV was very suitable for post Tisha B'Av, eve of 10th of Av, Menachem Av, G-d willing. It was a very calculated propaganda program in favor of Disengagement and against the "fanatic, extremist Jews" who are too stupid to leave their homes and communities.

MK Yuli Tamir couldn't understand why the soldiers could be, or would be, traumatized by forcing innocent people, men, women and children, from their homes. Her own daughter will be one of the soldiers. One of the TV announcers/commentators (opinions are given) was interviewing MK Rabbi Benny Elon and stopped him mid answer with "you've been saying this for a year, and we don't need to hear it again." His microphone was turned off, the rabbi's that is.

I don't have time, must get myself to Jerusalem for real, rather than word, demonstrating, so I'll just end with the most disturbing piece.

They went to one of the new fancy refugee camps to show how wonderful they are. They call the cardboard prefabricated shacks "caravillas," to make them appear (sound like) the height of luxury. One man asked how he is supposed to be happy in these tiny structures when his real home was five times the size and well-made. But the most frightening was the woman who thought that now her kids would be safe. Doesn't she realize that it was her Gush Katif home, community, that was protecting her new location? Now the terrorists will be able to bomb the new one more easily than they bombed the old. G-d forbid, but the chances are that I'm right.
